We finally got our scripts and music for the show. We have been blocking off a perusal script. It has been crazy. I have been doing choreography using the movie Cd,hoping that it is correct. Most of it is pretty close.  I hope we will be able to get enough kids to do the ballet. I need at least 4 more to make it work. Wish me luck!

Today I’m am working on costume design for The King and I. I wish I knew a budget. They don’t want to give the director a budget. I mean what is that! So So Stupid.

You know I think I knew for a while I was going to end up doing the costumes for this show. But I wasn’t worried about it until Monday night when I got home I just had a feeling.

I have been researching the show and the period and it is funny how they thought of the dress for the times. It just seems they show the men with open shirts or shirts off and that wasn’t really how they dressed. Mostly royalty. And then the children they have them dressed to formal all the time and they wouldn’t have dressed that why for school. Natural white or cream tops with pants that would represent where they were in line for the throne. That is my plan I think I could hit the thrift stores and change the collars of the shirts and it would work.

Also I found the music for Uncle tom’s cabin online. I think I will be able to use it to rehearse the show.

I am pretty sure we won’t see a rehearsal score we will see.
